Information Saves Lives

Wednesday, February 28, 2007
I know that this blog is only read by a few people, but nonetheless I am going to post this. I have a friend who knew what to do when someone told him that he was going to commit suicide. He knew what to do because he had read this article published in the Columbia Daily Spectator. He might be responsible for saving a life. Every college is different, and outside of college it is clearly even more different. But everywhere it is your responsibility to tell someone responsible if a friend is a danger to himself. Read the article. Educate yourself.
Thanks.

Written Pyramids is a blog written by a journalist living and working in Washington D.C.

I have left my real name off of the blog so as not to imply that the blog is somehow linked with the journalism I get paid to do. (Still, I never write about my beat on this blog, and rarely express opinions about the day's news regardless of its relationship to my beat).

I would love to hear from you. If you want to contact me directly rather than leaving a comment here, I can be reached at WrittenPyramids@gmail.com.
