Star Struck

Tuesday, June 3, 2008
There is nothing like watching a senator give a speech on an empty Senate floor,  listening to a Senator give the same impassioned speech four times in one day, or realizing that some of the Senators cannot possibly have been througoughly briefed on the bill they are pontificating about, for making sure you stay a cynical, distant reporter.

But I am glad that I can still sit in the Senate press gallery and think, wow. I'm here. I am glad that I still recognize the power vested in me  and fill a little thrill when I walk down the marbled hallways following a Senator who is answering my questions.

Contact Me

Written Pyramids is a blog written by a journalist living and working in Washington D.C.

I have left my real name off of the blog so as not to imply that the blog is somehow linked with the journalism I get paid to do. (Still, I never write about my beat on this blog, and rarely express opinions about the day's news regardless of its relationship to my beat).

I would love to hear from you. If you want to contact me directly rather than leaving a comment here, I can be reached at WrittenPyramids@gmail.com.
