On A (Hopefully) Related Note

Wednesday, January 9, 2008
I've been doing some alumni stalking for my friend who is now the Editor in Chief of my college newspaper. There are some pretty impressive alumni out there. I hope to someday be able to be compared to them even a little.

At risk of someone doing some impressive googling, and destroying my anonymity, the alumni of that paper -- a club to which I now belong-- include:

  • A former Editor in Chief of the New York Times
  • One of the reporters subpoened in the Valerie Plame debacle
  • The author of one of my favorite books
  • An editor of the New York Times Magazine
  • A Washington bureau chief and a Washington deputy bureau chief
  • A Moscow correspondent for a major news network
  • A politics reporter immortalized in Timothy Crouse's Boys on the Bus who gave me encouragement when I needed it most by signing his memoir "With best regards to a budding reporter."

And that's just a sampling.

Written Pyramids is a blog written by a journalist living and working in Washington D.C.

I have left my real name off of the blog so as not to imply that the blog is somehow linked with the journalism I get paid to do. (Still, I never write about my beat on this blog, and rarely express opinions about the day's news regardless of its relationship to my beat).

I would love to hear from you. If you want to contact me directly rather than leaving a comment here, I can be reached at WrittenPyramids@gmail.com.
